The European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH), in collaboration with Hispania Nostra and Europa Nostra, is hosting the “Youth Heritage Days 2025” taking place from 26 to 30 March, 2025 in Albarracín, Teruel, Spain. The event is organised under the framework of the European Heritage Hub. Over five days, students and young professionals will come together to explore the role of cultural heritage in addressing the triple transformation – green, digital, and social.

This year’s theme, “Depopulation, Youth, and Cultural Heritage”, invites participants to engage in five roundtable discussions aimed at collectively addressing challenges, exploring opportunities for mitigation, and proposing solutions. In addition to the triple transformation, debates will start with an important focus on current rural policies and their connection to cultural heritage. The goal is to highlight how heritage preservation aligns with rural development strategies and efforts to tackle depopulation.
Additionally, the event will feature presentations and discussions on the implementation of the ‘Youth for the future of cultural heritage in Europe’ Position Paper, published by ESACH in 2023. These 15-minute presentations will highlight key insights from various event ESACH members were invited to organise in their communities, labelled as Spin-Off Events, showcasing good practices across Europe.
Finally, young participants will take part in a hands-on workshop where they will be presented with an existing challenge in Teruel province. By understanding the local context, they will collaboratively develop and propose solutions by the end of the conference in a dedicated session.
