European Heritage Hub to organise 5 educational study visits at Una Europa Universities

The European Heritage Hub is excited to announce its upcoming Educational Study Visits, taking place in universities  that are part of the Una Europa Alliance, of which Hub partner KU Leuven is also a member. A total of five visits will be held, open to students of the host university.

These half-day events aim to raise awareness among young heritage students and professionals of the role of cultural heritage in addressing some of our greatest societal challenges, offering practical examples and case studies, as well as providing opportunities for cooperation.

Students from the University College Dublin College of Arts and Humanities will be able to attend the first educational study visit on 12 February 2025. The next visit will be organised at the Jagielloński University Krakow on 7 March 2025. More educational study visits will be organised at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and KU Leuven in March and April 2025.

Building skills for future heritage professionals to tackle today’s challenges

The Hub aims to foster the active involvement of young heritage students and professionals in the sector and provide them with meaningful education, training, volunteering, and networking opportunities. In this context, these educational study visits aim to allow students to learn about the latest developments in the field, both from a policy and sector perspective. It is also an opportunity for fruitful exchanges and networking in an informal setting.

The themes addressed during the study visits are in line with the green, digital and social (triple) transformation, which is at the core of the Hub’s activities. Experts, policymakers, representatives from local and national authorities, and academics will share their insights with an audience of students and emerging professionals in the wider fields of culture and heritage.

The main outcome of the study visits will be a practical kit designed by and for professors, with the view of complementing existing curricula and reinforcing cooperation within the academic sector, as well as  enhancing collaboration between academia and civil society.
