The programme is a North Karelian vision of the direction and measures to be taken to promote culture and creativity. It also contains a description of the current development of culture and creative industries in our region.
The wide range of proposed measures reflects the diversity of the region cultural offer and describes the work done and still to be done. The document addresses, among other things, the links between cultural and creative industries and the local economy, the strenghts, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the sectors, and its importance for people’s mental health and wellbeing. It touches upon the digitalisation needed in the sector and contributions of culture to international cooperation.
The Operational Programme contributes to the development of a lively cultural offer in the region and better allocating project funding for the cultural and creative sector.
