The Regional Law No. 12 of May 27, 2024, establishes a comprehensive framework for the regulation of environmental evaluation and authorization procedures in Veneto. AIA provides a unified authorization for facilities with significant environmental impacts. Each process includes mechanisms for monitoring, compliance, and sanctions for violations.
The law does not specifically mention “cultural heritage”, however, the Regional Technical Committee (art.10), responsible for the projects’ evaluation, is composed of experts on a variety of subjects, among them also on cultural heritage and landscape.
