The National Arts Plan was established by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, for the 2019-29 timeframe, through the Council of Ministers Resolution no. 42/2019.
Focusing on three axes of action – cultural policies, qualification, and education and access – the Plan proposes particular measures that contribute to the valorization of the arts and education in the lives of communities and citizens.
It aims to strengthen cultural policies and arts development in various territories, holding organisations accountable for their cultural commitments. The plan includes measures to quantify and improve the cultural impact of organisations, create methodologies for assessment, and enhance the dissemination of arts and cultural projects nationally. It also emphasises the importance of connecting institutions, artists, and projects, producing educational resources, and utilising digital platforms for accessibility.
The strategy includes the implementation of a communication plan for the National Arts Program, the creation of a platform for artistic and cultural proposals, and the promotion of artistic projects’ circulation. Additionally, it focuses on education for citizenship, financing projects in the areas of art and community, and safeguarding local heritage. Overall, the strategy aims to foster creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement in arts and cultural education initiatives over the next five years.
