Plano Estratégico Municipal Cultura Torres Novas 2030

The Torres Vedras Municipal Strategic Plan for Culture 2030 is a comprehensive roadmap developed through a participatory process led by the University of Minho that aims to contribute to the development of culture in Torres Novas. Through a comprehensive methodology, 27 objectives were identified and categorised into 9 strategic goals across 3 axes, derived from a SWOT analysis conducted during collaborative sessions. The objectives aim to enhance sustainability in cultural policies, improve communication processes, and diversify funding mechanisms for cultural development.

Emphasising the integration of environmental sustainability policies in cultural management, the strategy advocates for the promotion of cultural industries valuing local heritage and enhancing communication within the municipality and cultural sector. It also underscores the importance of engaging local businesses in cultural financing through sponsorship and enhancing internationalisation practices.

Addressing weaknesses such as the lack of qualified personnel in funding decisions and delays in establishing cultural governance structures, the strategy seizes opportunities like creating a local sponsorship fund and aligning cultural planning with tourism strategies. It also highlights threats such as potential cultural exclusion and the necessity for improved coordination among cultural stakeholders.

Ultimately, the strategy aims to fortify cultural development in Torres Novas by aligning objectives with the municipality’s long-term cultural vision for 2030, ensuring a coordinated and inclusive approach to cultural growth.
