Plán péče o tradiční lidovou kulturu v ČR na léta 2023 – 2030

The document was adopted as a resolution of the government, and it aims at providing a concrete framework for the implementation of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. It is regularly updated and directly linked to the National Cultural Policy of the Czech Republic 2021–2025+. The body responsible for its implementation is the Department of Regional and Minority Culture.
The first part describes how it was adopted in Czechia and how it is implemented. It explains that by the Ministry of Culture, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is understood and safeguarded in a narrowed sense as traditional folk culture (TFC). It gives details on the implementation of the previous plan (2015–2025). The national infrastructure and system of TFC safeguarding are described in detail.
The current state of safeguarding activities is provided. An analysis of favorable and unfavorable events and circumstances that can and cannot be influenced by the government is also listed. It highlights the strengths and achievements and discusses possible risks and threats.
The last part is an action plan that links concrete goals and actions with responsible bodies, deadlines, and available resources. It focuses on the following topics:
– identification of TFC and ICH in the territory of Czechia
– documentation of TFC
– safeguarding, presentation and promotion of ICH
– international cooperation
