This report provides an overview of the activities and achievements of the Paul do Boquilobo Biosphere Reserve (PBBR) in 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the PBBR managed to implement and develop various strategies in line with the MaB Program objectives.
Governance actions included holding virtual meetings to discuss and plan the reserve’s strategy, identifying financial partners for economic sustainability, and implementing a budget funded by donations. Development efforts in 2020 focused on projects like the Optimus Prime initiative, promoting local food products, conducting guided visits with environmental education, and organising awareness and solidarity actions. Logistic functions involved scientific research, monitoring, education, and environmental awareness activities, particularly targeting farmers to promote environmental sustainability practices.
